The new Pandora Charm selection – There are obviously few bounds to the imagination and skill of the designers and craftsmen at Pandora as the company once again unveils their newest line. At once both elegant and charming, there seems almost to be a subtle thread that links one piece to the other, as though they are born of a common spirit. That just may be one of the reasons that our pulse rises a bit when a new line in the popular collection is unveiled. In essence, just as with other major releases, I am happy to say that the new Pandora Charms bring no disappointments.
Having just taken an inordinate amount of time to peruse the new charms (61 new charm styles–and plenty of each style!) in the first place, it struck me that were I to have to choose only one of the new pieces for my own, and could not have more, I would not be able to do it. After giving it some thought I decided that I would most likely choose the clever little silver dog house, replete with the hound. It would be fitting. A gem of a charm, masterfully drawn and cast, that clever little piece certainly charmed me–one of the better animal Pandora charms I have seen to date. The floppy-eared hound and his neat little domicile would stand out as one of the best pieces in my collection. The spring Pandora charms and I seem to be at the start of a beautiful friendship as I can see many that are on track to become my personal favorites this spring.
As always, I am amazed at the content. It begins with the distinct impression that the line has a certain character that follows it throughout. Uses of the wonderful colored gems and stones are maintained with subtle restraint on the floral designs, which could not serve better to display their vivid contrasts. The birthstones are some of my favorites, understated and perfect, making me that much happier that there are indeed no restrictions on my own choices. There is a wonderfully simple, strongly cast Rhodolite Heart that I consider a must-have and an Orange Moonstone mounted in a soft cast of golden links that draws more than just my lingering stare. It may be “the one” if I really did have to make such a choice between the different Pandora Charms new releases. It truly is simple and exquisite.
Speaking of common threads, maybe it is the consistency of quality, and certainly, it is the level of artistry in the new Pandora Charms spring designs. However, whatever the elusive ingredient is that causes me to sense a certain family bond in the Pandora creations, there is a world of individuality in the beads and charms themselves. Each one is, in a word, superb. In addition, that elusive thread seems to convey a certain feeling to the entire line with this new release–one of playfulness while retaining a high sense of style. Wear them with jeans, or out on the town. Pandora’s new gold and silver charms are like the cute girl in the village that, once she is dressed for the ball, becomes the most elegant lady in the kingdom.
I have few doubts that the offerings from Pandora in this iteration will be a benchmark for the company. A great deal of attention will surely be given to their Murano Glass beads, which are so finely shaped and polished in all their brilliance. They are great, reasonably priced charms that can add color to your bracelet in an easily affordable manner. While I have my selection of silver and gold charms, the Murano glass charms are definitely in the majority mainly because I can so easily use them to individualize and color coordinate my bracelet.
As some people have noted, one type of charm that does seem to be lacking in this Pandora Charms spring release is the silver-only Pandora charm. These are usually favorites with new releases as they are some of the most affordable Pandora charms. In fact, with this release, the Murano glass charms–which were usually comparatively priced, are now quite a bit more expensive than the plain silver charms. Of course, there are plenty of older silver charms available for people to choose from however the lack of silver charms in the Spring Pandora Charms release will be disappointing for many.
Still, the new Pandora Charm selection is fantastic even though there are some fairly highly priced charms available. I do not know if I truly have a favorite in the new collection. Each time I browse through all the remarkable Pandora charm designs, I find at least one or two more that seem as though I had never noticed. Whether Pandora bracelets charms or beads, glass, silver or gold, Pandora has shown us again exactly why we are their biggest fans.
