Pandora Charm Bracelets
Pandora Charms – The Pandora Charm Bracelet is the perfect gift for the woman, or girl, you love. Whether you need to buy something special for your wife, daughter, girlfriend, or for your office co-worker, you really can’t go wrong by giving Pandora Charm Bracelets.
Although completed Charm Bracelets make wonderful gifts, the completed bracelet can end up being quite pricey to give. You could make up a cheaper bracelet (with mainly silver charms, on a silver chain) for around $600, but the average bracelet could make you fork out anywhere from $800 up to $5,000!

If you aren’t planning on giving a full Pandora Charm bracelet you can at least give one with a few starter charms on them. These are much less expensive and you don’t have to decide on the whole design yourself. You can merely start off with a few Pandora Charms either of the same color or different colors but the same type. If you want to add special pandora charms to celebrate or remember a special occasion you could mix and match the Pandora charms accordingly.
If the person you are giving a gift to already has started their bracelet then you can simply add to their collection of Pandora charms and give them one that will complement their bracelet, and your pocket!
My daughter used to be into hip hop jewelry, but not any more! Now she loves her Pandora charm bracelets. Yes, she has a couple of different ones, and a whole slew of Pandora charms to mix and match as she pleases or feels like doing. She has just started a charm bracelet for her two year old daughter and intends to add to it each birthday, Christmas and to celebrate other special occasions such as going to kindergarten, learning to swim, etc
The Pandora Charm bracelet craze has taken off tremendously, till you are now able to find them on sale in almost every country around the world. They are also easy to buy online, which adds to the popularity of Pandora charm bracelets. Sometimes you simply don’t have time to go out and shop for a gift, so being able to log onto a jewelry shop and purchase the Pandora charms online, even having them gift wrapped and sent directly is great!
Measuring your Pandora Bracelet
One thing that is important to know, before going ahead and ordering the actual bracelet on line is the wrist size of the person you are giving the bracelet to. That’s not always easy to find out, particularly if the person you are giving the bracelet to lives a long way away. And if it’s to be a surprise, it really won’t remain one if you ask the person to measure their wrist and tell you what size it it. For your information, the most popular length for women is 19 cm, so if you want the Pandora Charm bracelet to be a surprise, you could always order the 19 cm length bracelet for most women.
How do you measure a wrist anyway? What sort of extra size allowance should you leave for your bracelet? Good questions!
For a securely fitted bracelet, measure your wrist at its broadest point then add on an extra inch for comfort and more importantly, to allow room for the charms. A good rule of thumb is that you should be able to put a finger between your wrist and the bracelet.
For those who like their bracelets to roll over their hands, instead of clasping the bracelet shut, measure your hand at its broadest point. Add a little here too, as you want to make it easy to slip the bracelet on and off.
Pandora charm bracelets come in seven different sizes, from 16 cm all the way to 23 cms in length.
Pandora bracelets cannot be shortened, so if you get one that is too big you may need to try to go into a jewellry store and exchange the bracelet for one of shorter length. Many stores allow you to do this, providing you take in your receipt and proof of purchase and it’s all taken care of within a certain time frame.
Pandora Beads and Pandora Charms Categories
I’ve been promising to set out a general category list for Pandora beads for some time now. So, for those of you who follow my blog, here is a simple list and outline of the basic categories of Pandora beads you can find. I’ll possibly break this down into smaller blog posts later, giving a more detailed summary of what Pandora charms you can find in each category.
Of course, some jewelers categorize their Pandora beads a little differently, or break the categories down more as there’s no real set pattern on how to categorize them.
Gold, Silver or Glass Murano?
The first major way I would categorize Pandora beads is according to what they’re made from. Naturally, 14k gold Pandora beads are generally more expensive than the Sterling silver or Murano beads. There are some instances where a silver bead would be more expensive, but that is usually if it sports a precious or semi-precious stone.
Alphabet Pandora Charms
There are two different sets of Sterling Silver Alphabet charms. One set is Sterling silver only, the other Sterling silver with a gold letter. Great for spelling out your name, your boyfriend or significant other’s name, your favorite football club initials, or the initials of the university you graduated from. It’s up to you. Be creative!
Animal Pandora Charms
This is a rather broad category. There are silver and gold animal charms that you can add to your Pandora bracelet. Prices vary depending on the material they’re made from. Some are more realistically crafted than others, but if you’re an animal lover or want to lighten up your Pandora charm bracelets, then take a look at the animal selection.
Birthstone Pandora Charms
Beautifully created birthstone Pandora beads are the perfect birthday gift for someone who already has a Pandora bracelet and enjoys adding charms to it. These Sterling silver charms feature a silver bead with a birthstone dangling from a small silver chain. There is a different stone for each month of the year. Aside from these, you can also buy an assortment of other Pandora jewelry and Pandora beads as well, with the particular birthstone for each month. So, don’t be limited to only the ‘birthstone charms’ but look around and see if there’s anything else you like.
Flower Pandora Charms
There’s a beautifully crafted selection of Pandora beads dedicated to the world of nature, with some beautiful flower beads available. There are gold flowers, silver flowers, a combination of both gold and silver, then both with precious or semi-precious stones. At last glance I counted about 40 different Pandora charms that would fall into the ‘flower’ category. Some are bigger and more bulky than others, while some are very small and petite. All are quite gorgeous!
Food and Drink Pandora Charms
This is another broad category, and it includes Pandora beads from the fruit category, teapots and cups, cakes and cupcakes. Again, a huge variety in the price and what is available. The wedding cake charm is perfect to give to someone who’s getting married, or it can double as a birthday cake charm. I love some of the fruit charms, though I think my favorite retired golden strawberry charm that retails for around $700! I also really like the small sterling silver apple that has a very cute golden worm!
Holiday and Special Occasion Pandora Charms
You can also find Christmas Charms, Easter Charms, Mother’s Day charms, even a charm for Thanksgiving or one for Halloween!
Most of the online jewelry stores that sell Pandora charms allow you to search the charms by category, which makes it very simple to make your choice of what Pandora beads you are most interested in.
History of Charm Bracelets
Charms have been around since Ancient Egypt, or before. They were used to ward off evil spirits, or as symbols of faith and luck. Charms helped the ancient Egyptians find their way in the afterlife. Medieval knights wore them for protection. Christians identified others of like faith with the sign of the fish.
It was Queen Victoria, in the early 20th century, who made the charm bracelet popular and who started a trend among the European nobles. Trends come and go, and the charm bracelet has not always been in vogue. It made a re-appearance during World War II when returning soldiers brought home souvenirs from the lands they had been stationed in.
During the ’50s and ’60s, charm bracelets resurged. These charms were not worn to ward off evil spirits or to bring luck, but instead they signified events in the teenager’s life.
The early 2000′s saw another revival for the charm bracelet. Today they are a “must have” accessory for the fashion conscious, especially for those who like handcrafted jewelry.
The Charm Bracelet Today
Some collect tiny charms for fashion, others place meaning behind each charm added to their bracelet. Charms can be collected by category; sports, animals, hobbies, achievements.
A charm bracelet is a great gift. Add one or two charms to a bracelet and then give it as a gift. Add to it every birthday, Christmas, or whenever an occasion warrants giving something.
Popular Charm Bracelets
Popular charm bracelets found in shops today include Pandora Charms, Troll Beads, Italian Charm Bracelet. There are also many copies of these particular types of bracelets available at much cheaper prices.
In spite of the cost of the Pandora Charms, or the other original charm bracelets, they are still the preferred choice by many over the cheaper brands.
Pandora Charm Bracelets for Mother’s Day
Mother’s Day is just around the corner. Did you forget? Unlike other holidays Mother’s Day can tend to creep up on you. If you’re at a loss as to what to get your mother, what about considering a Pandora Charm Bracelet?
There are some beautiful charms you could use to link and build a bracelet from. If she doesn’t have one you could include some charms that reflect her personality, her current interests, or what has happened in her life. Of course, if she already has her own charm bracelet it’s much more simple to choose a special charm–perhaps something she’s said is beautiful that she’d like to have, or something you know would complement her current bracelet.
The official Pandora Charm Bracelets site offers some neat suggestions for Mother’s Day bracelets. They have custom designed one bracelet, and it includes Pink Oval Lights; the Queen Bee (what mother isn’t?); I Love You; Purse; Pandora 4 Petal Flower-Pink Pandora Red Seeing Spots and Pandora Red Flowers. This bracelet costs a total of $350 and it really is charming!
If you can’t afford to shell out $350, why not just buy some charms to add to her bracelet. Some that come to mind, and depending on your mother may or may not be received in good humor, include of course the Queen Bee Charm! Then there’s the Chimp Family–mum and baby, or the baby boy or baby girl! Depending on how old or young Mom is, you could always give her a pacifier or a baby carriage!
If none of those suit, how about the silver charm bracelets that spell out something like Mom with spacers inbetween each of the letters?
Then there’s always the “What every woman wants” selection, which features the Bead Stiletto; Purse; and Laura’s Favorite Diamond Bracelet.
Another idea: Whatever gift you could conceivably give, instead get the charm equivalent. How about a purse, or a flower bouquet, a rose or a stiletto to add to her bracelet.
If you’re really stuck on what to get for Mother’s Day why not look into the Pandora Charm Bracelets. I’m sure Mom would be happy with the choice, and it also give you opportunities for birthday presents, Christmas presents, etc. You can always buy a charm or two to add to Mom’s bracelet!

Pandora Grape Charms — Limited Edition
The recently released Pandora Grape Charm is a limited edition charm ONLY. This means that once all stocks are sold they will be retired and no more will be produced.
The lovely Pandora Grape Charms are silver charms, designed as a grape vine with a cluster of grapes and they have either a semi-precious purple amethyst stone, or a semi-precious green Peridot stone hanging from them. These charms are retailing for $40 at present, but according to Pandora Charms retailers, stocks are running out fast. In fact, quite a few retailers were not able to have their orders for these charms completely filled and some are running out of them already.
Several of the bigger Pandora charms retailers are only making these available for purchase at their shops, no online or mail order orders are being taken.
If you haven’t yet decided whether or not you will add this beautiful Pandora grape charm to your Pandora bracelet, I’d suggest you go ahead and make up your mind while stocks last! They are, in my opinion, some of the nicer charms released with the latest set of charms and make a delightful addition to your summer Pandora Charms collection.
An Additional Update
There is also a set of nine new Murano glass beads being released shortly, with the bead a heart shape. Colors include clear with either white or black or orange, amber, rose violet, green, red and blue. These new Pandora charms will make a great addition to your summer bracelets too, adding a splash of summer color to your already existing bracelet.
And with summer here and autumn just around the corner, you can look forward to the Autumn 2009 Pandora Charms release too. As usual there’s quite a varied collection of beads being released, with some brand new charms too. There are new enamels, a collection of zodiac charms for all of you astrology lovers (what a great gift for a birthday!), new stone Charms and more. A new arrival on the scene is the braided leather bracelet (and necklace.) Can’t wait for Autumn!
In the meantime though, if you are thinking about adding a Pandora grape charm to your Pandora bracelet, you might want to get down to your favorite Pandora charms jeweler and pick it up while stocks last, as you won’t have the opportunity to do so again.
Fruity Pandora Charms Bracelets
Popular Pandora Charms
What’s all the rage this summer with Pandora Charm bracelets? It seems that the fruit Pandora beads are really popular, particularly the newly released Pandora grape charm!
I am not generally so impressed with Pandora’s fruit charms, I think there are a lot of other charms that are better crafted than earlier released fruit charms, and I haven’t yet bought one for my own bracelet. The only exception to this is the lovely Pandora grape charm. These Pandora charms are made from Sterling silver, and the design really is very well done. The charm itself is a bunch of grapes (crafted on the silver bead) with a semi precious stone hanging from the bead. The stone is either a semi-precious purple Amethyst stone or a semi-precious green Peridot stone. The green or purple stone hanging from the bead itself really adds the finishing touch.
So, if you’re thinking about investing in new Pandora charms this summer to add to your already existing Pandora charm bracelet, you really couldn’t go wrong with buying the Pandora grape charm. I don’t want to sound repetitive, but it really is intricately and beautifully designed, so much better than the other Pandora fruit charms in my opinion, and it looks lovely.
For your reference, other Pandora charms featuring a fruit design–at least these are the ones that I recall–include a now-retired strawberry Pandora charm that came in either Sterling Silver or Gold; a Sterling silver pineapple Pandora charm that actually looked a bit chunky to me when compared to the other Pandora charms; and a rather nasty looking Sterling Silver apple Pandora charm complete with a gold worm! That one, really, was not the least appealing to me.
That’s why I’m both pleasantly surprised and very happy with the new Pandora grape charm. It’s delightful, fresh, nicely designed, and will nicely complement all other charms on your Pandora charm bracelets.
As far as design, if you don’t mind the other fruit charms one idea for your Pandora bracelet is to alternate the three currently retailing Pandora charms on your bracelet at intervals. That is, providing you like and want to wear the other beads. Then you could add other spring or summer related beads in between the fruit beads. That would give you a nice summery Pandora bracelet for sure. Or you could simply add the Pandora grape charm to your existing bracelet to give it extra charm and appeal.

By far more Sterling Silver Pandora charms are sold than any other type, with murano glass beads also in the running.

Lots of love charms in the list, which to me at least signifies that a lot of guys are buying them for their girlfriends. I’m not really surprised at any of the beads that are on the list. As mentioned above, most, being silver, are modestly priced. The most expensive bead on the list, the I Love You Pandora Charm, features a 14K gold heart which takes the price up to $65. Next, at $55, is the Queen Bee Pandora Charm again with a 14K gold crown. The black Mother of Pearl hearts on the Hearts bead brings that one up in price to $45. All the rest are $35 and under.
Don’t particularly care for any of the Pandora Charms on the list? Never mind, there are plenty of other beads you can choose from to make your perfect Pandora Charm bracelet.
