Jewelry Tips To Help You Accessorize Your Wardrobe with Antique Diamond Jewelry
The glitz and glamour of Hollywood have always attracted your imagination and shaped your image in some ways; specifically, you want to feel and look as attractive as Sandra Bullock wearing her slim-fitting dress with antique jewelry while walking the red carpet. This is a dream of yours, and you would like to make it a reality for that special night out with your husband or significant other.
First things first, which pieces of jewelry will you be wearing to accentuate your wardrobe? There are those moonstone earrings that you have been dying to try out. Oh, look, you also have the option of wearing a gold Victorian lavaliere necklace that would go wonderfully with your earrings. And, last, you have that beautiful three karat diamond ring that has been dying to see the moonlight earrings and Victorian lavaliere necklace. This means you are done choosing the diamond jewelry that will be used to accessorize with your wardrobe.
The last step is to make sure that everything you have chosen matches and clashes well with your wardrobe. Diamond jewelry is about matching with other jewelry and what you choose to wear is of the utmost importance. If you are going for Sandra Bullock, then you must accessorize in moderation; otherwise, you risk looking like some diamond-touting snob, which is not your intended goal. So, make sure that everything is in order and that you feel like a movie star when you walk out of your house and into the fancy four or five-star restaurant with your husband or significant other – he will love the way you look. I guarantee it.
Funky kids clothes are the last thing you expect to see in a wardrobe fit for a movie star that has a lot of jewelry. Many celebs are mix and matching their wardrobe to fit around the diamond jewelry they possess and Sandra Bullock is no exception. Making sure you get it right though is paramount to ensuring your look is not frowned upon.

Vintage jewelry has become a popular alternative to the pricier antiques but has yet to replace to quality and exquisiteness of real craftsmanship. If you’re looking to add a piece of history to your collection, here are a few tips to find great antique diamond jewelry deals.
You could go to a jewelry store and choose from a variety of beautiful, classic pieces that are polished and ready to be given to that special someone. However, it’s sometimes more fun, and definitely cheaper, to hunt for the next biggest treasure.

Go to a couple of them and you’ll some incredible deals. Please do realize, memories will be attached to some of the items, so do tactfully negotiate – may still get some beautiful treasures.
Garage sales are a lot of fun and a bit less formal than estate sales! Check the papers and see what sales are happening, usually Saturday mornings. Go there early and bring an antique jewelry price book to compare pictures and pricing. Try not to be too obvious. Many people just want to get rid of their junk. However, if they think you’re a professional, the price of that Victorian diamond ring just shot up or worst, they will decide to keep it and have it appraised later.
If you rather do your treasure hunt online, then Amazon quickly comes to mind. They have thousands of antique pieces with a wide variety of prices. You can place a bid and see if you get a bargain, or in many cases, you choose to Buy It Now and avoid paying too much because of auctioneer fever. Antique Engagement Rings & Diamond Rings
The history of diamonds goes back to a time long before diamond engagement rings were the primary application for this most treasured of all the precious stones known to man. Diamonds have a long and interesting history all their own and the stories told about specific diamonds are some of the most interesting tales that are often shrouded in mystery and human deceit. Let’s look at one of the more fascinating diamonds and the story behind it.
We know that the discovery of diamonds in Africa did not happen until 1870. Since that time, the quantity and quality of diamonds in the world have grown. In 1893 there was a discovery in South Africa of a diamond that was almost 1,000 carats in weight. At the time, this blue-white stone was the largest known diamond in the world. This diamond was given the name “Excelsior” which means ever higher. The context of this name was the result of the shape of the diamond itself such that it was shaped like a mountain. This rock was found in the Jagerston Mine of South Africa but by 1903 had made its way London, England where it was finally decided to forward on to the Asscher Company of Amsterdam who was famous for their diamond cutting skills. When they started analyzing this stone they discovered that there were several dark inclusions within the stone so that they ended up cutting a total of 21 individual diamonds from the original stone. The largest stone, Excelsior I, weighed almost 70 carats while the rest of them range from 1 to 47 carats. Tiffany of New York bought 3 of these diamonds in 1939 while the diamond company, DeBeers, displayed one of them at the 1939 World’s Fair. The Excelsior diamond didn’t retain its crown as the largest diamond for long either, as in 1905 the Cullinan Diamond was found and it weighed in at over 3,000 carats. While many of the original 21 diamonds from this stone were sold, many of the buyers did not want their names revealed so as of today, no one really knows where most of these diamonds have ended up. It is fairly certain, however, that no jewelry or diamond rings were made using any of these stones.
The long history of jewelry goes back to the earliest times when a man would adorn themselves with the teeth of animals they had killed. This was an attempt to display their “wealth” by symbolically telling everyone how good a hunter and provider they were. To some extent, the role of jewelry has not changed all that much through the ages. Just as in the Stone Age, we still use jewelry to communicate our taste and level of sophistication as well as our wealth. What has changed through history is many are the different designs and materials used for making the jewelry we wear. There are several distinct periods in history that have unique jewelry designs associated with them. From the ancient era through Medieval, Georgian, Victorian and Art Nouveau, to name a few, there are distinct characteristics of jewelry that are defined by the era they were made in. One era that was a watershed era for jewelry and jewelry design is the Renaissance period. Many of the artists of the mid 15th century had started out as goldsmiths and their work was reflected by the influence of the Greek and Roman cultures. One can discern the different styles of this period not so much from the actual articles, which are very rare, but from the painting and portraits of the people of that time. You will often see famous portraits of individuals who are wearing extraordinary amounts of jewelry. This is often because the European nobility seemed to be involved in a number of wars that were very expensive and jewelry was considered to be a type of portable wealth that they could wear or carry with them to finance their campaigns. In the late 1400’s the great explorer Vasco De Gama pioneered a water route from Europe to the Far East which resulted in the importation of large amounts of diamonds from India into Europe. This large influx of diamond rings enabled the emerging trend of engagement rings to be designed around the diamonds that were brought back by the explorers. As the flow of precious stones grew, the city of Lisbon became the center of the jewelry and precious gemstone trade until the sea deposited so much silt in the port that the center of trade moved to Antwerp where it stayed until 1585 when the Spaniards occupied the city to the extent that trade became stifled. At this point, many of the best diamond cutters in Antwerp migrated to Amsterdam when that city achieved the reputation as the center of the diamond business until into the 20th century. In addition to the advent of the engagement ring or diamond ring, the Renaissance period was when we first start to see portable timepieces used as jewelry that was worn. Earrings were another type of jewelry that made a comeback in this era as it seems that just about any type of body decoration gained favor among the masses in this enlightened time.
Antique Jewelry Online
During the 1980’s shopping was done by going out to stores and trying on every piece of clothing or jewelry until finding the perfect item you loved. It was a fun process to actively engage in the search for clothing or jewelry – you could go with your friends and make a day of it. Now, the newest trend is to search online for clothing or jewelry without spending too much time or money making a day of it. Not only that; the bargains you find online can add up to huge savings that are not possible at the same store. This is why I recommend searching for antique jewelry online rather than traversing the jewelry shops.
The reason that it is better to shop for antique jewelry online is to allow you the freedom to look at more than just an assortment of twenty different rings – which is more often than not what jewelers contain in store. Online shopping allows you to customize your likes and dislikes and then search for rings, necklaces or any other piece of jewelry that fits your description. Customization is definitely the main reason for shopping online.
Another very important distinction between shopping online and shopping at a store is that you can read customer’s feedback on the items they have purchased. This gives you an idea about whether they are a good jeweler to purchase from or whether it is a hassle to purchase from them. This means that the online jewelry store is not going to push or show you other items like they do in the store.
You can buy just about anything you like online and you even have the added convenience of having your purchases sent directly to your home. Various services can also be found with a quick search online and any search engine should help you find call answering services in your region.
Perhaps you run an online based shopping business that specializes in antique diamond jewelry. In this type of business, there may be a need to expand your presence by using London virtual offices in some place like London to add some prestige to your store. When people see that you have a distinctive product as well as a high-class location there is a strong possibility that you will be able to expect a price premium on your products because of the perception created.
